One aspect of our mission is to reach out beyond our local area of Christchurch, and the UK, and look to the ‘ends of the earth’.
We want to see the Good News of Jesus spread all over the world and to see disciples made in all nations and people groups. To this end we aim to be involved in
• Sending those members whom God has called to work overseas
• Working with leaders and churches to see the Kingdom of God extended
• Partnering in the Gospel in practical ways with various projects
Overseas mission has always been in the DNA of our church life.
In the past we have had people go out on various short-term trips e.g. Burkina Faso and France and we were involved for many years with churches in Guinea Bissau through the work of Tony and Sue Goodman.
For some years in the 90’s fund-raising and visits to Romania happened through people from our Church who had been moved to help Romanian orphans and street children.
In more recent years we have had church members working in various countries. In the Middle East Lydia Tipler was working in a New Frontiers church-planting team as an EFL teacher for 6 years, returning to the UK in 2010. In South Africa, Reg and June Basson were working with the poor and disadvantaged until they returned in 2013.
Members have also ministered in India, Nigeria, Malawi, Mozambique, Kenya and Uganda, as well as in South America and Europe.
Our current prime areas of involvement are India, the Balkans and Uganda.
