Thrive SUP
In April 2022, in partnership with our friends at Shoresports at Mudeford Quay, we held a Stand Up Paddleboarding Ready to Ride Course.
10 brave members of GodFirst put on wetsuits and ventured out into Christchurch Harbour to try out the fantastic and fast growing pastime of SUP. Some had tried it before, many hadn’t. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed their voyage around the harbour.
We’re already having conversations with Shoresports about more activities on the water - perhaps a Kayak Tour?

Church Camping Weekend
GodFirst held a Church Camping Weekend from 26th to 29th August - and Thrive were there
Our Thrive motto is ‘Enjoy Life - Do More’ and this weekend will be a great opportunity to do that with others.
We plann a few activities that we’d love you to consider joining us in.
Please note that you must assess the suitability of these activities for yourself and your family. You need to make your own decision about whether they are appropriate for your health and fitness levels. If you have any doubts, we’d recommend you have a chat with your GP.
Activities that we hope to have available are …
1) Thrive Bootcamp. On Saturday morning Rachel will be leading a 30 minute bootcamp session to get you stretched and your muscles working for the day. You’ll be able to put in whatever level of effort you’re comfortable with - there’s no pressure and the emphasis is on fun. There will be a combination of stretches and then exercises to get your blood pumping. These sessions are for the whole family.
2) Family Fun Walk / Run. On Saturday afternoon we have planned a course that takes us from the campsite to the water where we hope to have nice views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight. We’d love everyone to join this - whether you’re trying to beat your personal land speed record or taking a gentle stroll. There may even be a prize for the best fancy dress outfit on the day.
3) The big one - a 10k Run!. If you’re a serious runner then join us on Sunday morning for a route to Lymington and then along the water’s edge and back to the site. We’ll set a pace that suits the majority but if you want to go faster or slower then that’s just fine.
In addition to these organised activities, we hope to offer an ‘Unofficial Noticeboard’ at the camping weekend. You can use this to let others know if you’re doing something that they might like to join. Maybe a trip to the beach? Or a family walk? And if you haven’t got anything planned yourself then have a look on the noticeboard and see if someone is doing something you’d like to join in with.
