40 Days Extended Time With Him

Back in May, Steve and Esther Uppal visited us as guest speakers at our RISE conference. Steve then also spoke on the Sunday morning and shared, what we believe to be, a crucially important word for us as a church.

In summary Steve said:

"He [God] wants to give you strength, divine impartation of strength, but it comes as a reward of spending extended periods of time with Him. If you would come and spend time with Him, He will strengthen you. He'll strengthen you like it'll be way more reward than you would normally get because of the season that we're in."

We believe that the key part for now is: "spending extended periods of time with Him", and call the whole church to a season of doing exactly this.

The 'plan' is deliberately 'open' as we feel the Lord is calling us to simply lay things down and follow Him without knowing the outcome! So, to start with, we've called the church to an extended period of time with Him which will involve a day of fasting each week (Thursdays) ending with a gathering in the evening for worship, encounter and prayer. This will start on Thursday 12th Sept and initially go for 40 days, and we will continually review what God is saying to us as we go.

We have additionally organised the following:

  • Sunday 8th September - Vision Sunday launch in the morning, as well as 7:30pm prayer meeting in the evening.
  • A prayer space where people can come to pray at the Runway. Available between 9-5, Monday to Friday.
  • Tuesdays -  9-10am gathering at The Runway for worship, prayer and encounter.
  • Thursdays - day of fasting, ending with a 7:30pm gathering at The Runway for worship, prayer and encounter.
  • Zoom at noon prayer meetings (Tuesdays and Thursdays).

Not everyone can be at everything, but this is an important moment for us and our involvement is so important. God is leading us and our obedient response unlocks Kingdom possibilities!
