As I read through Rom. 8 this morning in the New Living Translation it struck me afresh just how many wonderful and staggeringly amazing things happened to us the moment we believed in Jesus and received him into our lives! Twelve of them are listed below. 

1.   We were given hope! "We wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us. We were given this hope when we were saved" (Rom. 8:23-24).

2.   We became new creations! (2 Cor. 5:17) We looked at this yesterday.

3.   We were declared "not guilty" of every sin in our past, present or future! "There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (Rom. 8:1). And it was God who put us in his Son (2 Cor. 1:21-22).

4.   We were raised from the dead and given eternal life! (Eph. 2:5; John 6:37-40; 10:28)

5.   We were rescued from the domain of darkness and transferred to the kingdom of God's Son! (Col. 1:13).

6.   We were set free from Satan's prison! (Luke 11:21-22)

7.   We were sealed by the Holy Spirit as saved and belonging to God's (Eph. 4:30) and therefore we can never bear the mark of the beast reserved for those who belong to Satan! (Rev. 13:11-18)

8.   We were seated in heavenly places! (Eph. 2:6)

9.   We were eternally reconciled to God! (Col. 1:21-22)

10. We were forgiven of all sin: past, present and future! (Col. 1:14)

11. We were purified and made eternally clean! (John 15:3; Heb. 10:14)

12. We were made inseparable from God's love! (Rom. 8:38-39)
