Natalie tells us about the Armour of God
Everyone else in the church is learning about the armour of God, and I thought it would be nice if our little ones were included too. Even though this is a complex idea for children I want to focus on the concept that each day, as we get dressed, we can ask God for the special clothes to help us follow him. We don't need to be able to name all the armour or explain what it is for at this stage (but if they want to know, go with it) but knowing that God provides what we need to follow him and we can be active in choosing to wear his special clothes is great! Love Natalie.
Play a game: say a piece of armour and ask your child to point to where it goes on their body. eg. You say helmet, they put their hands on their head. That's right, the helmet of salvation goes on your head. If you want, explain what this does.
Play the matching game: you'll need 2 sets so that you can match the just the pictures you can download them here
Be creative and dress your favourite teddy in the armour of God
Family challenge: see if you can pray together in the morning to put on the special clothes that God give us to help us follow him. How many times this week can you manage it?
There is some colouring to do here too.
