Jesus meets Zacchaeus

3-4s | Sunday 1st November 2020

Here are some activities that you might like to do after watching the videos

Something amazing happens in the story, did you spot it? Zacchaeus was a man in the town that everybody knew because they had to pay him money. He wasn't a good man, he was greedy and tricked people to make them give him more money. He was rich but had no friends because he wasn't kind, When Jesus came to town, He knew who Zacchaeus was too. Even though Zacchaeus was a bad man Jesus still wanted to have tea with him! When we do things wrong, Jesus doesn't send us away. He wants to get close to us to show us our mistake and forgive us when we ask him. Zacchaeus changed from a bad man to a good man, just by meeting Jesus! He realised that he had done bad things, said he was sorry and gave his money away to make up for his stealing. Zaccheaus was the opposite of how he started out!

Play opposites: see if you can say the opposite (eg tall/short, big/small, loud/quiet, old/young, good/bad etc)

Jesus knew Zacchaeus' name, do you know your name? What sound does it start with? Do you know what that letter looks like? Ask your grown up to help you write your name. Trace the letter shapes and practice the sounds.

Jesus can forgive us if we ask him to, he can give us a clean heart. Is there anything you need to say sorry for? Do you need to do anything to make it right?

There is some colouring to do here too
