The Teaching – Here’s Sybil with our story for today…
You can read the parable of the prodigal son here: Luke 15: 11-32
Activities
Why not play a game with your family where you all take it in turns to name one of the qualities of God, until you can’t think of any more. You could start with qualities we can have as well, then move on to those only God has.
Also you could have a treasure hunt in your homes to find the thing you think will last the longest. Then as a family discuss the findings and agree which is the winner. Remember that lasting 100 years, is still longer than most people's lifetime, but nowhere near everlasting!
Spend some time with your Dad and tell him 3 things that you love about him or love doing with him.
Everlasting means that something never ever stops - can you think of anything that does that??
(Maybe watch a clip of a waterfall and look at all the water that flows over it - all day, everyday of the year!! This may help you understand what we mean about something that never stops….)
Your Dad can not always be with you all the time - BUT God, as your Father, is with you all the time - how amazing is that?!
Worship
Father God I wonder how I managed to exist…..
