Stand Firm Week 5 - Helmet of Salvation and Sword of the Spirit
We hope you joined us at 9.30am on our zoom call if not email
and we will send you the link for next week.Activities for this week
Have a listen to our theme song for the series below and a song that Dan led us in this week.
Here is a video to remind you of the story that Charis spoke about. How does Jesus use the truth of God’s word to combat the devil’s tricks?
Helmet of salvation - find a hat in your house (a cycle helmet, bobble hat etc) and wear it. Think about why you are wearing it - to protect you, keep you warm.
When we believe in Jesus, we know that we have been saved from our sin and that is like wearing a helmet to protect our minds.
With your hat on, stand in front of a mirror and say these promises out aloud - and say them until you believe them!!
I am a new creation - the old me has gone.
I am adopted into God’s family as His son or daughter
God made me to fulfil a role that He has planned for me
Sword of the Spirit - this is our weapon to attack the enemy with - it is God’s word, our Bible!
Use the sheet here to print out some swords and cut them out. Now grab your Bible, and on the swords write out some verses that you can try to remember, and you can speak these verses out when you need them! Put your swords up in different places round your house so you are reminded of them often. If you have time, you may want to make one or two for other people who live in your house with you.
More Activities for this week.
There are some declarations to say and pin up on your wall here you can decorate them too.
